Meet the Team

  • David and Meredith Alexander

    David and Meredith Alexander have served as missionaries with Global Outreach International for the past 9 years, 8 of which were as missionaries at a mission hospital in Honduras. David is a general surgeon and served as Director of Surgical Services for 6 years managing both the operating rooms and visiting subspeciality surgical teams in addition to serving as part of a very busy surgical service and team. Prior to his service in Honduras, he served as a surgeon in the US Army for five years with multiple deployments as a trauma surgeon with various Forward Surgical Teams in Afghanistan. During their time in Honduras Meredith served as a teacher at a bilingual school and as housing manager for the mission in addition to homeschooling their four children.

  • Max and Hannah Anderson

    Max and Hannah Anderson and their four children served in Honduras through the Samaritan's Purse Post Residency Program for 2.5 years prior to joining the Christian Health Service Corps in 2024. Hannah grew up as the child of medical missionaries serving in Africa and later in the Middle East. She is a family physician with a fellowship in surgical obstetrics. Max is a licensed architect and has experience managing projects at all phases of the design and construction process including pre-design through construction administration and project closeout. During his time in Honduras, Max has gained experience maintaining and developing hospital systems and infrastructure.

  • Judith Blumhofer

    Judy is a pediatrician who completed her residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She then served for two years in the Samaritan’s Purse Post Residency Program. She then went on to join the Christian Health Service Corps. She worked at a mission hospital in Honduras for a total of 10.5 years where she served at various times as medical director, clinic director, pharmacy director, volunteer coordinator and director of a children’s center. She is a practitioner in trust based relational intervention and is also a long term foster parent currently caring for three children. In addition to her work in Honduras, she has spent time working with different missions organizations throughout Central and South America, Asia, and Africa.

  • Alisa and Andrew Geers

    Alisa grew up as the child of missionaries serving in Singapore and Japan. She received her Masters in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Johns Hopkins University. She spent six years working in primary care and community health for underserved populations in the United States. Andrew is a Physician Assistant who studied at Nova Southeastern University in Orlando. Prior to leaving for the mission field, he worked in primary care as well as sports medicine. Together, he and Alisa served through the Christian Health Service Corps at a mission hospital in Honduras for 5.5 years. Andrew was head of the orthopedic and rehabilitation department, assisted in emergency care, primary care, and surgical care of patients. Alisa was director of women’s health as well as pharmacy director, working to source medications both in-country and from the United States. Andrew and Alisa have two daughters.

  • Nathan and Bethany Gilley

    Nathan is a family physician who completed his residency training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He then went on to complete the Samaritan’s Purse Post Residency Program, spending two years working at a mission hospital in Honduras, where he practiced full-spectrum family medicine. He served as clinic director as well as head of biomedical equipment management and procurement. Additionally, he is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Bethany is a physician assistant who is a homeschooling mother of five daughters and also directed an ophthalmology clinic as well as ophthalmology brigades while serving in Honduras.

  • Daniel Tercero Hernandez

    Daniel holds a master’s degree in business administration from Universidad Tecnologica de Honduras. He is currently executive director of Salt and Light Ministries, a Christian nonprofit doing medical and poverty alleviation work in central Honduras. He has experience working in strategic planning, fundraising, and donor relations. Daniel has resided in Honduras all of his life. He and his wife Alejandrina have three children.

  • Anne and Isaac Hotz

    Anne is a physician who completed a residency in family medicine with surgical obstetrics at North Colorado Medical Center. During medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas, she rotated at a mission hospital in India. Isaac is also a physician who completed a residency in family medicine with surgical obstetrics. During medical school at the University of Nebraska, he completed a rotation in the trauma ER of the main government hospital in San Pedro Sula Honduras, Catarino Rivas. He went on to complete a fellowship in International Family Medicine through Via Christi in Wichita, KS. During the fellowship, both Anne and Isaac served at mission hospitals in Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Later they completed the 2-year Post Residency Program through Samaritan’s Purse in Honduras. They then transitioned to Christian Health Service Corps and served nearly six years at a hospital in Honduras, working as the medical director and clinic director.

  • Esohe "Grace" Iyamu-Osagiede

    Grace is a family physician who completed a rural family medicine residency with Lousiana State University-New Orleans and is currently working on her master’s in nonprofit development /administration remotely through LSU- Shreveport. She spent two years of her medical education on the low medically resourced Caribbean island of Dominica where she was able to lead community outreach programs. She participated in several short-term medical mission trips to Honduras prior to making it her home a little over one year ago.

  • James and Emily McDaniel

    James is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who completed his training at Texas Wesleyan University in 2014. He worked as an RN in the ICU for 3 years before CRNA training. He has been on several short term mission trips in Central and South America. Emily has a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Southern Arkansas University and has 4 years of teaching experience in various grade levels and subjects. They have 3 children and are excited to serve at Hospital Yojoa.

  • Amanda Metcalf

    Amanda is a family nurse practitioner with a master’s in nursing with specialization in Education from the University of Phoenix. She has over 7 years’ experience in a retail walk in clinic in the United States. She also has experience working as a nurse in a pediatric emergency department as well as medical/surgical unit and working as a sexual assault nurse examiner for both adults and children. Prior to making Honduras her home in October 2022, she visited several times to study Spanish and to serve with short term missions in various communities. She is currently working in a primary care clinic in Siguatepeque while continuing to study Spanish.

  • Greg Seager

    Greg holds a master’s degree in nursing and healthcare leadership from George Washington University. He is the founder and chief executive officer for the Christian Health Service Corps, an organization of Christian healthcare professionals serving the poor around the world. Prior to founding CHSC, Greg and his wife Candi designed and implemented global health initiatives in multiple regions globally. He is also a part of an international working group on best practices in international healthcare initiatives. Additionally, he is the author of When Healthcare Hurts: An Evidence Based Guide for Best Practices in GlobalHealth Initiatives.

  • Daniel and Rebekah Smith

    Daniel is a general surgeon who trained in Jackson MI and then completed a global surgery fellowship at Loma Linda University in California. He was first inspired to pursue medical missions in 2003 during a medical mission trip to Haiti. He went on to participate in several short to medium term trips to Guatemala, Burundi, Malawi, and Angola. Daniel, Rebekah and family spent over a year working at a mission hospital in rural Honduras through Samaritan’s Purse before returning home to reorient for the Hospital Yojoa project. Rebekah is a full-time homemaker and home-schooling mother of 9.

  • Daniel Tercero

    Daniel is a Honduran pastor who serves as a chaplain at one of the largest public hospitals in Honduras. He is also chaplain of the local police department as well as serving as the president of the Association of Pastors of the Lago de Yojoa region. Daniel has served as program coordinator for several different mission agencies working within Honduras. He has a degree in chaplaincy as well as theology. He and his wife Zulema have resided in central Honduras for the majority of their lives.
