Hospital Development Plan
Located approximately midway between Honduras' two largest cities, the Yojoa region is home to dozens of rural mountain communities surrounding the country's largest freshwater lake. Despite its growing population, the region has limited access to hospital-based care.
Hospital Yojoa is being developed to provide accessible, high-quality acute and maternal healthcare for communities throughout the region.
A Hospital Built in Phases

Hospital Yojoa is designed to grow in phases, allowing us to begin serving the community with a focused first phase while creating the infrastructure and capacity for future expansion.
Phase 1 will establish a maternity-focused hospital with:
Labor, delivery, and recovery rooms
Obstetric triage and emergency care
Postpartum and antepartum care
Kangaroo mother care for premature and vulnerable newborns
A Level I neonatal intensive care unit
Pre-operative and post-anesthesia care
Outpatient gynecology and gynecologic surgery
Emergency and urgent care services
The hospital has been intentionally designed so that additional services and capacity can be added as the needs of the community, available resources, and clinical team grow.
Future phases will expand Hospital Yojoa toward a full-service hospital, with additional inpatient capacity, operating room suites, emergency services, wound and fracture care, specialty clinics, and intensive care. The long-term development plan envisions a hospital of approximately 100–150 beds.
Where We Are Now
After more than two years of permitting and design review, Hospital Yojoa received its operational license in July 2026. Construction began shortly afterward, and we hosted our groundbreaking celebration on September 4, 2026.
The next stage of development will focus on completing construction, securing the funding needed for the hospital, licensing and preparing physicians and other healthcare professionals, and continuing to build strong relationships with the Honduran healthcare system and communities we will serve.
